辅导 and Study Groups

辅导 is available for any 湾大学 course and is very popular because it helps students be efficient and effective with their study time outside of class. Consider requesting tutoring for your more challenging courses as early on in the semester as possible. The sooner tutoring starts, the more effective it will be.

Depending on the course that a student is requesting help in, they will be put into either a one-on-one tutoring session led by a peer tutor or a group study session led by a study group facilitator. These sessions are scheduled based on student availability once a request is made. 辅导 can be set up in the evenings or can be done online using video conferencing software to make it as convenient as possible for students.

辅导 is also a great employment opportunity for students. Not only are you able to help your peers, but you can build your resume and develop positive references for future employment opportunities. We are always looking for patient and open-minded students to work in the 学生 Success Center as tutors and study group facilitators.

Online Writing Lab

湾大学's Online Writing Lab (OWL) allows any 湾大学 student to submit his or her work for review by a writing center tutor. Functioning like a 黑板上 assignment submission, students upload their documents, along with the OWL Questionnaire document. Upon receiving a submission, tutors read questions, 审查工作, provide written feedback, and return submissions directly to the students via email, as well as through "Check Feedback" in the Online Academic Success Center (OASC). Supplemental Instruction

Supplemental Instruction (SI) is an internationally recognized academic support program that targets traditionally difficult courses. 学生s come together in regularly scheduled study sessions to compare notes, discuss course materials, develop creative study tools, practice problem solving, and prepare for exams. These sessions are facilitated by trained Supplemental Instruction Leaders that attend the course with students and prepare study materials for use during Supplemental Instruction sessions.
